Game of Thrones: Bookmarks - Cross Stitch Patterns by black-lupin Game of Thrones: Bookmarks - Cross Stitch Patterns by black-lupin
Update 1st April
I've had a few people say they have had problems viewing the PCStitch files so I have now added PDF versions of the patterns into the ZIP file available for download.

I've also tweaked the colours used in a few of the patterns. I recommend downloading the new patterns if you have not already started stitching the old ones.

I am also thinking of doing some quote bookmark patterns. If you have a fave quote or character you would like bookmarked feel free to leave me a comment!

DYING FOR SEASON 2!!! SO CLOSE NOW!!! :la:

---------------------

I haven't done any cross stitch patterns in ages but the urge suddenly grabbed me earlier this week. I am absolutely in love with Game of Thrones at the moment. The TV series is amazing and I'm almost finished the second book (I know it will spoil the next TV series... But I just HAD to know what happens next!).

So there are five patterns, each featuring the sigil and motto of a major house: Stark, Lannister, Targaryen, Baratheon and Greyjoy. The sigil's are based on the artwork of the TV series. Each bookmark measures approx 2x7" when stitched on 18-count aida.

Click download on the right to get a ZIP of all the patterns. If you stitch one of these please send me a message when you're finished so I can see the end result! (also please credit me with a link back to this page). I have not yet stitched any of these myself, so I warn you to double check that the cotton colours I suggest match what you have in mind for your design.

Completed projects using these patterns:

Patterns for four more houses are now available:

Which color did you use for the background in the Lannister one? It isn't listed on the pattern :)

I didn't understand... where can I find the colours? I'm afraid to pick wrong ones and that it wouldn't be as beautiful as it should...

Umm.. Did you not extract the file or will it not extract them? ... Because if you download it will be a compressed file like you said but then you need to right click and hit extract all ... and then you can get to the patterns... if its not letting you extract then i have no idea how to help sorry?

If I were to make this on 14 count aida fabric, how big would it measure out then?
(Awesome work btw ^^ )

Hi! I'm making one on 14 count, I left only 2+ rows on the edges everywhere to create a kind of frame. Unfortunately, it's turning out too big for my liking, around 22,5 cm long and 7,5 cm wide (ca. 9x3 inches). I suppose I can still use it in textbooks and other bigger books. But I suggest you use an 18 count aida too instead, with that you'll get a 18,5x5,5 cm (7,5x2,25 inches) bookmark, that's the perfect size to use in for eg. the ASoIaF books. :)

Thank you so much for these great patterns! :) One question though: did you design the full sigils, or only the parts we can see? Because, for example the kraken on the Greyjoy sigil looks a bit lobster-like without its arms. I get that they had to be chopped off because of the width of the bookmark, but I'd really like to do it in its full glory. :) So basically what I'm getting at is: if you have the charts for the full sigils, could you please please upload them too? ^^ As for future patterns (if you still take suggestions) I suggest the "What is dead may never die etc." and the "A reader lives a thousand lives etc." quotes, because they're awesome. :) The latter would really work on a bookmark I think. :)

Thanks for these great patterns. They work brilliantly on my phone so I can zoom in and out and check colours easily. I've only done the baratheon one so far but I'm not sure how to send you a picture.

I'm working on the Lannister bookmark for a friend. I'm about halfway done. I suggest you use the lightest yellow for the words with two strands for back stitching because you can't read it otherwise. :)
